Half day EKKA Holiday

Today is EKKA Show Holiday for Brisbane people.  At the morning, I was still getting some work done. 

However, I was still a bit bust at the morning. I got off around mid-night. We went to Gold coast.

1st stop is Hinze Dam. We spent about an hour walking around near the dam.

Then we were continue our journey to Natural Bridge. Our destination is the Glow worms cave. We arrived there around 5pm and waiting for sunset, so that, the sky was completely dark. At that period, worms would start to emit the light. 

We saw glow worms, but there were not many of them. Around 6.30pm, we started to go back.

Then we were at the last stop , Surfers Paradise. We had Sushi and Sashimi in Yamasakura

That was a enjoy day, that sounds we have been a lot of places in just half day!

Luckily, I got a full tank for my car

:Last night, I saw a 7-11 petrol station rise in pinelands raised the price to 156.9 cents per litre. Then I guess there will be petrol price is going to rocket high again. Then I got a full tank for my car for 146.9 per litre. This morning, I went out from home, I saw the most of stations list the price at 159.9 cents per litre. That is more than 10 cents different!

Around 10.30 pm, I drove passed  7-11 petrol station at pinelands road. I saw that was 157.9 cents per litre. But after that, I was still driving along the road, I saw Woolworth and BP were selling 146.9 cents per litre. I am worrying about the others petrol stations will follow 7-11 to rise the price. I got my car fuel up for 146.9.

Fuel Price in Shell is 1 cent more expensive than others

Today, I saw Woolworth and 7-11 listed the price of unleaded petrol is 146.9 cents per litre, but when I went to Shell in Sunnybank tonight, that was 147.9 cents per litre. So, please shop around first!

I got a cheaper fuel in Gold Coast

Yesterday, I got a full tank of fuel in Gold Coast, that was only 147.9 cents per litre, while Brisbane was selling 152.9 cents per litre. I think that is still cheaper in Gold Coast. There are some websites have the fuel per suburb, may be you can do a online research for suburbs nearly. There may be some suburbs have cheaper fuel price!

Having hong kong style breakfast

I have not a hong kong style breakfast for long time. This morning i need to go to see a physio. I passed by sunnybank plaza on the way to the physio . This is a good time to have hong kong breakfast

First Night without coffee

Recently, I am so so busy and tired. After my dinner, I still need to work and learn iOS programming. So, I used to have a cup of coffee with my dinner to keep myself awake. But tonight, I had a coffee-free dinner, that sounds a bit healthier. But I am so sleepy and I went out for dropping my friend back to home too! Moreover, Mains Road had two roadworks. That was a long and painful joinery.

Fuel Price is getting normal

This afternoon, I went to Sunnybank. I found the fuel price is falling, that is 157.9 per litre, but the price is still too high.

I am extending the advgencms. I am building an app in android for that cms. The aim is to manage the content anywhere . Moreover i am writing the photo album component for commercial version.
I hope we can have a better cms.

Wedding dinner

That is around about a month away from my wedding day. I have sorted out the most things, but I may need to change the venue for the reception(wedding dinner ). Originally, we booked parkland chinese restaurant. Today, i heard their kitchen has some damages from the fire on last thursday. Moreover, the restaurant are still closed. I am worrying about they won't be able to open for business on my wedding day.
Well , our wedding dinner will not be big. I have some backup options even parkland cannot accommodate us. Please pray for us.

Power Outage in Sunny Park

On last Thursday evening,  there is a fire brigade in Sunny Park. After that, the shopping center went dark. Yesterday, we went to there again. I found there is a part of the center where is near aldi has outage power. Thus, a number of shops are closed due with that, included Parkland Chinese Restaurant, ALDI  and eJoy, even the Italy restaurant outside are closed too. Today, we went there again, those shops were still closed. I suggest if you need to go there, please check with the center management on (07) 3345 7500 about whether the power back to normal.

RSS Reader

Google Reader is facing out now, I know RSS is a kind of "Old". But I still am using RSS to get the updates from the blogs who I like to read. So, I have to have a RSS Reader. So, we started a new project in CodePlex, AdvGenReader. The aim for this project is to build a framework to read RSS. This is the first version in Windows. Then we can port it into web form and  Mobile App.

A big spending day

My car did 60000km service today. A lot of things replaced such as engine oil,rear brake discs and four tyres. In total costed me more than a thousand dollars. Moreover the fuel price is so high. Keeping my car runs is not an easy job.

166.90cents for fuel

On saturday, i saw all petrol stations in logan sold 166.90cents per litre. This afternoon i saw a petrol station in calamvale sold the fuel in a same price. Even i had 10 cents off discount voucher, that will be 156.9 per litre. That is still too expensive!!!!

I am so sleepy

Sunday should be a day to have a break. But I did a lot of things, I went to my church during the morning, then you had our fellowship after church until 4.30pm. At evening, I went to Coles for supermarket shopping, because we want to buy a $100 goods in a single purchase for a 20 cents discount fuel voucher. At the end, we had $76 and got a 10 cents discount fuel voucher too bad.  Then we back home, I did house cleaning and cooked a dinner. That is a big day, I am so tired now!

I will do a huge supermarket shopping

Coles has an offer, if you buy $100, then you can have 20 cents discount  fuel voucher. The petrol price is so high. I really need that. Moreover, I got another coupon, for $5 off on a single purchase more than $70. I can save some money too! So, I need to do a huge supermarket shopping this afternoon.

Maybe, you need to fuel up your car

I went Logan this afternoon, I saw the petrol station marked 166.9 cents per litre!  That is crazy. Luckily, I drove back to Brisbane. I found that is still 158.9 cents per litre. Well, I think that should be better to fuel up. I just got a full tank on the way home. I suggest you fuel up your car too. I guess 166.9 cents may be the standard price tomorrow.

I need a coffee

I am so tired!!! I went for a service call and were jumping across a number of projects today. I wish to go home now or I had a super strong coffee!

I just passed by Sunnybank. The most of petrol stations are selling 157.9 cents per litre. That is 2 cents cheaper than yesterday.

Blue Monday

I got a busy weekend. On Saturday,  I put a website,Relegance Architects, to live and played a two hours Badminton. On Sunday morning, I went to Church and then after my lunch, I did some housework for three hours. So tired! I am still feeling tired. That is too bad, I need to have a client meeting at this morning.

The most expensive fuel I had

I heard about the crude oil price has reached the recorded highest before. I think that is the reason, I just bought a tank of the most expensive fuel I had! I filled a full tank for my car, that is $60 for a civic! Moreover, I saw the price tag of petrol is 159.9 cents per literal. That is crazy! I wish I was in Hong Kong, I can use MTR to travel around. I don't need to drive at all!

Trouble with cash

This morning , i found there were no cash in my wallet.  So i had to rush to atm, but i found the atm may be out of order. The guy was using the atm sounds have the problems to get out the cash fromand the machine. Then i went to supermarket for buying a pack of coffee filter. Hopefully i could get cash out in there. Unfortunately , the cash out was not working. Finally i had to go to the service counter sorted that out. I spent 15 minutes for that.

I got some spare time to travel

After i drank a cup of milk tea , i am still tired

I went to sunshine coast today. I have drove for at least 3 hours. I am so tired. Even I drank a cup of milk tea, i still feel very tired. In the normal situation, it can keep me awake for a night. I am so exhausted !

Very Sleepy, but I still have a lot of tasks need to be completed

The most time of this week was spending on my holidays in Auckland. That was a great holidays, I did not write many lines of code. I spent a lot of time to be a real tourist! But after the holidays, I still need to finish the tasks for this week!

This is Friday, I am tried! I had 4.5 hours meeting with clients this morning. I am looking forward the holidays!!!

Get ready for wedding?

The wedding date is not far away now. That is only two months time...... I  booked the venue and photographer. The wedding dress are delivered Yesterday, we made the chosen for wedding flowers too. That will be Light Bella from Blooms, Baskets & Gifts in Everton Hills.
But there are still many things on progress, I need to work the songs on church service and book the dinner on the wedding date etc.....

Coffee is the things every day i need

I found after I started to be a full-time programmer, I need coffee every day. I had three cups of coffee every day.I used to be stay awake for a whole night, if I had a coffee after 6pm. But recently, I have to take a coffee every 6pm, this way is to make sure I can drive at night. 

That is Friday, a training day

Today is Friday, but that is a bit relaxing. I am in a Win8 training. Not that stressful at all. But I need to work tonight and tomorrow....

The Mobile service in Azure

The second things we learnt today is Mobile Service in Azure. That is very useful too! In a simple term, that is rest service to altering the sql table in Azure which is very good for the mobile app. Moreover, it has access control system to set who can insert, update the data.

Learning Azure now

Now, the presenter is talking about Windows Azure, this is the cloud service from Microsoft. It has VM, SQL, Storage. The most interesting thing is Active Directory in Azure. We can put your active  directory on the cloud. I can reduce the number of services I need to manage!

After I started my own business,AdvGen-Web Design Company in Brisbane, most of my time is working for my clients. That is so great to have a day for training, learning Win8 and visual studio 2012

I am at windows 8 dev camp

I am in Microsoft Brisbane Office now and learning new windows 8. I hope we can learn enough to  build our windows 8 app.

Aussie dollars falls, that is good!

A friend told me Aussie dollars is falling, that is bad.  We are earning aussie dollars, if the aussie dollars falls, therefore our wages are cut!
I got a different views, that is good for us. I am running a web design company,AdvGen, we got a lot of competitions from other countries. Many people will consider the web design services from oversea. because of our strong currency, our web design is more expensive. If the ausssie dollars falls, our Australian service and products will become more competitive.

More Apps will come

I just finished a major update of  AdvGen Todo. This update, we changed the UI based on our users' feedback, such as making the live update on the time spent of a running task and the slider will jump to the page of the current task. We will continue to improve our existing apps and build more new apps!

The venue for wedding ceremony

That is very important to choose your wedding ceremony takes place. There will be the most memorable time for your life. The most of people will consider whether the place is romantic. However, there are some important factors. For example, the parking spots is essential too. When i choose the venue, i did some researches. I checked the number of park spots will be available in the hall and whether the spots are free of charge. I even checked the side streets nearby have some parking spots too. I wish my guests can go to the ceremony without any hassles.

We have arranged our web hosting  accounts. Our company applied a new web hosting account in australia. This is a very performance web host which is using ssd. Finally, we moved our australian based service, AdvGen and liveinbne. This way can provide a faster website to australian visitors and reduce the old web host workload.By the way, these websites are powered by cloudflare.

Crowds @Causeway bay

I believe Causeway bay in Hong Kong may be the busiest area in the world. There is always full of people. I was in there near mid night, there were still a lot of people. Only one times, there was not many people, that was about an hour after typhoon signal number 8 took off. Most of shops were still closed. Besides that times, in my memory, there is always busy.

I want to have my chinese new year in Hong Kong

A few days ago, when i was in calamvale central for my supermarket shopping. I saw there is a sign for "Happy Chinese New Year". Yes , the chinese new year is coming, that is lesser than a month time. I have not go back to Hong Kong during Chinese New Year for years. 
Hong Kong is my hometown. According to the chinese custom,  everyone will go back to his/her home and spends theto time with his/her family. That is the reason i want to back to Hong Kong during Chinese new year. Moreover, there will be a big fireworks for Chinese New Year. That will be fun!!!! But that's too bad. I am so busy for my company during these months. I cannot go to anywhere outside Brisbane.

Coffee at night

Usually,i do not drink coffee at night. But i got some work to complete last night.  I had to keep myself awake.Thus, i had my dinner at Winter Garden foodcourt. I had a cappuccino at Star Espresso. That was quite good. However, i worked until midnight. That was not easy.

Les Miserables is great.

I watched Les Miserable few days ago. This was very great. That is much better than other movies I watched last year such as batman and 007.  The songs are great. Hugh Jackman acts and sings very well. Moreover, the movie is better than musical. The actors can preform their acting in the film than a stage. In addition, the film has some visual effects which cannot have in the musical stage. For example, at javert's death scene,  we can see him jump into seine. The scene is very impressive! We cannot have the same experience in a theatre. I highly recommend you to watch this movie.

On New Year Eve, there will be firework in Victoria Harbour. I wish I could be in there!  I can have some joys with friends and friends!!!

Christmas Parties

During this year, I had a lot of parties. Meanwhile I need to work during this christmas and new year, thus i am tired. However, the party i went last night was great. Because this party was a kind of my surprise birthday!

Apple Shop in Hysan Place

I was in Hong Kong this September. I saw Hysan Place  had a section which is around three stories was  covered by a big cloth. I was wondering what sort of constructions were carrying on.
The answer is revealed when I received the photo from my friend in Hong Kong yesterday.  That is Apple Shop in Hysan Plaza. This shop opened on last Saturday. No wonder, it is covered by a big cloth for months. I think that is the secret weapon of Apple. It is surrounded by three-story-height glass and I think that is the largest apple shop in Hong Kong. That is cool. My friend told a lot of people took a photo in front of this shop!!!

New air-con is installed

This morning, i got my new air-con. It is more quiet. Moreover, it looks nicer. Lastly, I wish it has a better energy rating too.

We fix computers too.

TA lot of friends know my company,AdvanGeneration, builds website and computer programs. Not many friends knew about we fix computers. We clean computer virus and install operation system etc.
Building websites and computer applications are big tasks. They costs some fair amount of money and take time. That is hard  to win a job like this.On the other hand, fixing computers is an easy task. Moreover,all households need this kind of service! So that is relatively easy money to earn. However, this is still our side business .

My air-con is gone.

 

Yesterday, I announced the end of service for the air-con in my bedroom. That is around ten years old. Early of this year, the control board is burnt out. I cannot turn it by the remote control. I have to turn the socket of its main power. This is the only way to shut it down. Last week, the situation went worse. I smelled something burnt when it turned on. That is enough. In Australia, that is very expensive to someone fixing the appliances. Thus, I bought a new Air-Con. It has five-year warranty. I believe it can last for a while.

AdvGenCMS is moving forward .

We released a new version of AdvGenCMS. This is a major milestone. We had an installer program. This makes our system to a turnkey CMS. The next steps are to build a shopping cart function and an api for mobile apps.

Marketing for advgen

We started to put more efforts on the marketing for my company, AdvanGeneration. The new website will put it to live early next week. Moreover, we is running some advertisements on a chinese newspaper in Brisbane. In addition, we will increase budget for online advertisement. Hopefully, there will increase the exposure of my company.

Risk Management in a start up

Someone suggested those start up company should focus what they are good at. Well, i got a different point of view. We have a variety set of business area. This spread out the risk. Even one area is not running profit, other business areas can support the company running.
Moreover, the one area can generate some new leads. For example , we sold a web design package to a client. Once times I have chats with that client, i found they need someone to do some I.T. support tasks.  Well, i got some new businesses.
I think that is good to develop some new business areas along your core business line.

Fresh Food Market@Hong Kong

Hong kong people got an interesting idea. They think any meat is processed, it is not fresh anymore. Thus,in those food market in Hong Kong, you can see live chickens and fish. They pick the live one. And the staff of will "process" the livestock in front of customers. That means "fresh"!

Yesterday,we got our first Mac. That is mainly for iOS development. We started to build our iOS apps. Please get the latest news about this from our website.

We have a new person to work on AdvGenCMS. There will be a user friendly installer very soon. At the same time, we are building the api too.

Looking forward to watch 007

The new movie of James Bond, skyfall, will be on screen on this Thursday in Australia. Moreover, this year is the 50th anniversary of James Bond. I believe this movie will have somethings for this. In addition, this movie is on screen in Hong Kong since the early of this month in Hong Kong. My Hong Kong friends told that is not bad. Thus, I am looking forward to watch this movie next week!

In a start-up company ,there are a lot of things happened every day. Some are encouraging. Some makes you a bit sad. Some need time to handle. They can make your mood up and down every day. Even they made you to consider going as an employee.

AdvGenCMS -Next Step to Mobile

I am putting my efforts on building API of AdvGenCMS. That is for Android App of AdvGenCMS .I believe every blogging or CMS platform needs to have an administration interface for Mobile. Now, we are going to post-PC era,some people will only have a tablet, they won't use PC anymore. Moreover, the mobile interface can allow the users to post the latest information of a live event. Thus, I need to build a mobile interface for AdvGenCMS.

Wonton Noodles@Tasty Congee & Noodle Wantun Shop

Yesterday, I had a bowl of a tasty wonton noodles at Tasty Congee & Noodle Wantun Shop in Telford Plaza. I love it! Firstly, Wonton noodles is a kind of Hong Kong Traditional Food. Moreover, the bowl of wonton noodles is very authentic. Soup is great, noodles is very fresh. I gave a five stars to them. But that is a bit expensive, the small one is $30 and large one is $38. Well, they got comfortable seats. We got a good break in there.
Generally, I am bit happy about this restaurant.

100 Years Before Birth of Doraemon

Doraemon will birth on 2212, that is 100 years later. So, Harbour City is to celebrate this event, they placed more than 100 Doraemon figures in the open area near the Star Ferry Pier. Each figure has QR Code, you can use your smart phone to scan it, and then it will bring you to the website for this event. That is very fun! A lot of people go there to take photo with Doraemon figures.

SKY100

I brought two ticket of SKY 100 for $150 from Groupon. 

SKY 100 is  the 100th floor at ICC which is the tallest tower in Kowloon. Moreover, that is an observation deck, you can enjoy 360 degree of Hong Kong.
I went there at night, that is very impressive. No Doubts, Hong Kong has a nickname, Pearl of the East! That sounds there is a better view than the peak.
But I found inside lighter in SKY 100 is too bright. I tried to photo in there. The glasses reflected light a lot!
Anyway, that is a must-visit place in Hong Kong.

God Lead Us

Always, there are always somethings happened out of our plan. I cannot control them out at all, but God lead us, He protected. He is our shelter. He is our Lord.

MTR is the best!

 

 Although MTR has some delay on their services due with some technical problems, I think that is very reliable. I have been live in Brisbane and Sydney for a while. I believe MTR is much better their public transport systems. Moreover, we get to most of urban area in Hong Kong via MTR and every train in MTR is just around 5 mins max. In the world, there are not many cities can do that!

I build my own CMS- AdvGenCMS

I have spent a year to build my own CMS- AdvGenCMS. Finally, I completed it. During the process, I learnt MVC and LINQ. Moreover, that is advancing my system design skill!!!

Keep changing

When you start a small business, please keep your mind open. You are on a journey to find the right answer. Maybe, at the end, you have to completely change your core business. Startup business is very dynamic.

Star Ferry

 

Before I go to Australia, that was very very rare to use Star Ferry crossing Victoria Harbour. That is too slow. Usually, I used to travel by MTR.

But, during these recent travels to Hong Kong, I choose to use Star Ferry at least one times in each trip. Well, now I got more time. I go to Hong Kong for holidays. Moreover, I like to travel by Star Ferry, I can enjoy the scene of Victoria Harbour. The most important reason is the fee. That is $2.60. If I choose to use MTR, that will cost around $10. But all Star Ferries are without A/C. That is very very painful to stay there during summer!

Batman Dark Knight

I watched Dark Knight last night. It is not bad at all. This is a good action movie. Only bad thing is no many fancy weapons.  The batman jet seems to be the only new gadget. Anyway,the script is good.The joinery of batman recovered from his past is very meaningful.

Paid app in android is not easy to make profit

I am building some paid apps in android, such as AdvGen Network Info Pro. But the number of download are lesser than my plan.  I need to spend some efforts on marketing.

I am a room with heater. But i am still feeling cold.

Sunny Day Finally!

 

Last week, the most of time is raining. I had little "flooding" at my back yard. Since Yesterday, the rain stopped. Today, even we have a blue sky and sunny day. That's cool! This is the time to wash clothes.

I am working hard to build an android app.

I started to android application development for around two years. But that is a bit slow. Recently, I speeded u the development process and spent more time on this. During these few weeks, I am building two android apps.

Foggy Peak

The Victoria Peak in Hong Kong is very famous tourist attractions. There should be a best place to view the Hong Kong Island. I went to there in wrong time. There is full of fog! That is too bad!

 

Note that: I was in Central, before I went up there. The weather is not bad, just only a bit cloudy. I think I need to check out the "local" weather at the peak too!

End of Financial Year Sale

I went to Garden City Shopping Center tonight. Now is near end of June, that is the time for End of Financial Year Sale. I found some of shops has 50% off discount. The most I like is in Dick Smith. Some of their laptops have 25% off. Well, that will be end soon. If you have time, I suggest you should go to shopping. There may be some good deals suit for you.

Dinning out is so easy to get fat

During past few months, I went out for lunch and dinner a lot. I gained some more weights. So, I started to cook my own food. It sounds healthier and saving money.

We have to proud ourselves. We need to find out some aspects we can do better than others people. So, we can be confidence to live.

Tram In Hong Kong

 

In Hong Kong Island, we keep the historical transport, Tram. That is older than 100 years old! They are not very fast. But I still love to travel on this. Because that is not traveling very fast. I can enjoy the street view and their fee is very low, just $2.30.

Started to jog again

When I was in Hong Kong, I was jogging every day. But after I backed to Brisbane, I go to gym three times per week. I think that is good enough, so I give up to jog.
Today, I went to jog again. My gym is a bit far from home, I cannot go there everyday. Jogging sounds easier. As a result, I decided to jog when I cannot go to gym!

I went to sunnybank plaza, I found Dick Smith is running a big sale. The external hard dish got 15 % off, some laptops have 30% off. The sale ends today!

Still Busy

I was very busy with the work from my company and some personal stuff. During this week, I can free up some time. Firstly, I need to have some sleep. But I still have a lot of books to read. I am always busy!

Hong Kong is full of high rise buildings. That sounds no places for somethings green.
But I travelled to Hong Kong recently. That is near start of summer, that is the time for flowers to bloom! So, I went to Lai Chi Kok Park. I found there is full of Beautiful Flowers! Hong Kong still has some places for natural and pretty things!

Macau Visit

When I went to Macau two months ago,  I quite like there. Because there are a lot of old buildings, such as Senado Square. I felt like going back 18 th century. Moreover, even the floor is paved by the coloured stones, very traditional. I like there.

Got up late

Now is 13.49. I had not done much things at all. That is because I got up at 11 am. That is so late!

Finally, I am off from work.

Now is around 8 pm. Finally I am off from work. That is so hungry. Brisbane is not same as Hong Kong, that is so easy to find a restaurant at night.

Always cost cutting

"Cost cutting" seem to be the golden rule in businesses world. That is rare to hear a company will speak in public to say "we will spend a big money to improve quality. "   That gave the impression most of companies are keen to earn the quick money. That is so sad.

I went to IKEA for dinner again.

I am in IKEA for dinner again. I wish to have a value meal and I am enjoy to shop in there too.

The weather is funny in Brisbane today

That is cold and wet this morning. But now is hot and sunny. But I love it.

What's a big day!

I finished so many things today. I got all important tasks done. I am so tired!!!

I need to take some days off

Recently I am busy with a number of things. I build a new program which calls timer assistant. Moreover I am planing to build an android application. I need to deal with some personal issues too. Not just those things. I have some work from client too. I think I need each day has 72 hours to complete those things!!!

Gaining weight

I ate better recently. I went out to eat a lot of tasty. So, i gained weight. I need to work out harder.

So tired... and busy

This morning, the internet at home is out of order!!!
Thus, I did not get much work done!
I am still working now, 11:08pm.
I am trying to finish more tasks!
I am so tired!
